Tried Supernatural. Didn't stick.

Started watching the first few eps of Supernatural the other day. For fannish context, I guess. Or because I didn't know what else to watch.

Got to the one with the plane-crashing demon, in which the brothers very seriously remind each other that the Latin name for God is "Christos."

...and I was out.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of it either. The couple of eps I've seen didn't have that sort of grievous mistake, but I hate the shooting style, the gender representation is a bit dodgy and the fan representation is, in my reading, insulting, so... *shrugs* I get why people like it, but it's just not my thing.

I mean, I knew I'd have to suspend a lot of disbelief and watch out for the misogyny and super male-gazeyness of it. But the classical language fail was apparently one step too far. :D

Yeah. If it's a mild fail or an esoteric fail then that's one thing; what you've described is just lazy writing. ;)

My daughter talked me into watching this season, when one of the pivotal plot points was that other people can give supernatural beings permission to possess you, because it's opt out and if they don't tell you you're possessed...
