i missed all but the first three weeks of snowboarding season this year 'cause of a broken arm, so now that it's spring, i'm comping at the bit for hiking to state. we went to boulder river last weekend and are preparing for some overnight backpacking later in the season. i'm so happy to be back outside.

thanksgiving came and went. we spend the whole day indoors and never got dressed. it was magical. matt and i do not have family anywhere nearby, so i was cooking for two. i made a beer brine (Red Hook IPA) for the turkey the day before, and then cooked it in the crock pot all day, so there was little for me to do other than sit around and drink. i ( Read more... )

so over the last several years since i've been taking my brain medications regularly, it has been nearly impossible for me to draw. this has been a major struggle for me as i have kept some form of a sketchbook since i was in the 5th grade. i still have one on me at all times, even though i have not drawn in it in over a year. it's been difficult ( Read more... )

as someone who was born and raised on the gulf coast, please know that we feel ya. just use common sense and be safe out there.

i planted this vegetable/herb garden a while back and i ate most of it. i composted the rest and then replanted some new veggies for the fall. i want to eat them, but i have to wait for them to grow first. it suuuuucks ( Read more... )
