Under the Dark CH_7 continues to be a bitch. :\ ARGH.

spn_j2_bigbang first drafts are due May 1st, and so far all I have are sketchy-ass outlines and nothing written. BAH.

For this year's startrekbigbang, I have one idea that I gave up using last year and a random thing that popped up in the meantime. For your information and possible vote of interest:

1. North Pacific - NC-17, ( Read more... )

writing update, spn_j2_bigbang, star trek big bang, help i can't decide

Hey, my vote is for North Pacific. It sounds like it would be a very interesting story. Circuitry and Spark sounds okay but I like my 'Kirk/Spock' to be flesh and blood'.....if you get my meaning.....keep up the GREAT WORK!!! I am also looking forward to reading Under the Dark when you have it completed.!!

'Circuitry and Spark' sounds AMAZING, particularly if you avoid the route taken by Star Trek: Nemesis (which stole it from Asimov) in claiming that a robot joins humanity by accepting mortality. I think it could be very interesting to argue that the stupid, illogical things they both do (cheating on the Kobayashi Maru, beating up bullies who insult Amanda) demonstrate sentience, individuality, etc. And of course falling in love--what mere machine could do that? I also wonder whether deciding that the powers that be on Earth don't have the right to make that decision could be a proof in itself of sentience--what if they decide to buy/borrow/steal a ship and go have adventures instead?

Exactly! I think I'd really enjoy working on C&S because of all the intellectual discourse I could write in the guise of fanfiction. Then again, I also doubt my ability to make any of the stunning insights into the human condition that a good version of this fic would require... >_>

They both sound like great ideas. I would really love to see North Pacific written though. Just got finished rereading Shore Leave by Narukyu so I'm looking for happy fics.

I am a firm believer in happy endings, but North Pacific has a very UNhappy climax (that leads to an awesomely happy ending, but still, ANGST). I'll keep your vote in mind!

I vote for numba 1. Pacific Ocean!

Thought I think you should write both, because they would be amazingly awesome. Yup.
