Do you know these webcomic artists?

Oct 26, 2009 13:35

I just sent a message (below, behind the cut) to quite a few webcomic artists, but there a few I cannot find - if you know them, or read these, or have any idea of how to find them...help is appreciated.

Hi Awesome Artist Types,

In reading Som*Pos and seeing Randy's twitter feed, I noticed that he said that StripsApp did not have his permission to republish his work - I'd never heard of this, so I did some searching.

Here's their main site:

http://stripsapp.com/

Now, before I make the long list of "supported comics" (their words, even), here's the link to Apple's Claims of Copyright [infringement] page - it has info and contact for Apple should you be interested in preventing someone else from making money off your product without paying you royalties or displaying the ads from your site:

http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/claimsofcopyright.html

Note, I cannot find a means to contact the authors of Octopus Pie, Order of the Stick, or Twittch - if you know any of them, please ask them this as well; also, the comic "Post Script" - I'm sure it exists, but a Google search for that...even in quotation marks, followed by the word comic...pulls up quite a bit. Also, gmail is giving me an address sending error so I'll be breaking this up - rest assured that I will use the available method to contact the authors whose email I could not find directly.

Here's the list of comics which they "support" (taken from the apple store's app description):
8-Bit Theater
A Softer World
Anders Loves Maria
Bunny Comics
Cafe Panic
Clan of the Cats
Count Your Sheep
Cyanide and Happiness
Diesel Sweeties
Dueling Analogs
Erfworld
Evil Diva
Freefall
Garfield minus Garfield
Girls Don't Play Games
Kevin & Kell
Least I Could Do
Little Gamers
Looking For Group
MegaTokyo
Modern Philosophies
Not Enough BBQ
Octopus Pie
Order of the Stick
Overcompensating
Penny Arcade
Pictures for Sad Children
Player vs. Player
Post Secret
Punch an' Pie
Queen of Wands
Questionable Content
STRIPTEASE
Sam and Fuzzy
Scary Go Round
Something Positive
The Phoenix Requiem
Three Panel Soul
Todd and Penguin
Twittch
Wasted Talent
What's New with Phil and Dixie
White Ninja
Wondermark
xkcd

And there's a notice that the authors of Ctrl+Alt+Delete and SMBC have asked not to be part of their app, so going to Apple...may...not be necessary - but if that's the case, then they'll likely look for more artists' work to steal.

I just thought you might want to know - if you already do, and have approved this, please accept my apologies for bothering you.

Thanks, and keep up the awesome work!
