The Lacing...

May 31, 2009 19:40

Since padawansguide asked, and I realized it was a good idea, I took pictures of the lacing. There are originals that have lacing under the robings. I don't know for sure if stomachers were pinned over the lacing, but it works so well and is so much easier than pinning that I decided to do it that way.

This way to the pictures )

Oh, ok! That makes so much sense! Thanks for taking pics of that! I bet it is way easier to pin that stomacher on!

Way easier because you're not trying to get the dress to stay in place! All my stomacher front dresses will be like this :)

Neat! You also have the option of wearing laced over a stomacher, too. Two dresses in one, basically!

That's a great idea! I think I need to steal that for my next dress with a stomacher - oh wait, my pet en l'air's not done yet...hmmm... ;)

That closure style always made the most sense to me, especially if you have a heavily embroidered stomacher. Thanks fo rthe pics, the dress is lovely!
