For the longest time it was the black ball gown (and who knows, maybe I'll change my mind if I can wear it again). Then I think the 1869 day dress beat that, but only because I was so, well, proud of myself for doing it. But the brown anglaise? I LOVE IT!!!

And yeah, isn't it amazing how nice and cool natural fibers are? Always cracks me up when people stare at you when you're in costume and demand to know how you can stand wearing it in the heat, when in fact, you're probably more comfortable than they are! :-P

And it is amazing. I've only worn period dress outside in hot weather once (my pink linen dress at Tryon Palace in North Carolina in July--probably mid nineties?) but I was fine. Yes, I was hot, but, well, mid nineties--of course it's hot! I was just as comfortable as the sundress I wore later in the day though.
I think it's also funny how people ask if you're cold in the winter. No. Actually, I'm really quite good!
