New Lens!

Ever since I got my Nikon D40, I've wanted the 55-200mm lens. And today I finally gave in and got it. I've taken a few pictures so far, and here's a sample of the zoom. The first is taken at 55mm, the longest zoom of my other lens, and the second at 200mm.

I looooooooove my lens! Did you get the vibration control version? It makes SUCH a difference with long distance shots.

I did! Of course, I forgot to put it on when I was trying it, but there'll be plenty of time for that later :)

Thats awesome. In the photo lab the Nikon D40 is called the work horse, too bad they stopped making the D40 and D80. Your lucky to have one.

I work for a Nikon dealer-- the new models are just as hard-working as the old ones were, and are more up-to-date. It's like computers and cars, you can't keep selling the same one year after year. There's nothing wrong with previous year's models, but if you want people to buy, you gotta make new. (Says a girl shooting with a camera made in '07.) The lenses are forwards-and-backwards compatible, though, so it's good to have them! Opens up a lot of new worlds. :) You can't take shots you can't see.

Cool! Congrats!
I've *ahem* "borrowed" my dad's D50 until he notices I have it still ;) Very much enjoy using it. I'll be sad to go back to my boring ol' powershot after this.
