Day 3~

I was really excited today for two reasons! 1.) I got my last laser hair treatment so my ~2 years of torture is over for now. 2.) I'm so excited to answer the meme today!

Day 03 - Your favorite Final Fantasy theme/song.There's not really a simple answer to this question. So why am I excited to answer it? Because I think you guys might actually ( Read more... )

Ugh FF14 is gonna be an MMORPG like 11. >(!

BUT DAMN the archer guy is sooooooo hot I want to play it just for him <3.

FF13 was a huge disappointment for me. After FF10 all the FF games been going downhill. >(

Yeah, unfortunately FFXIV is their new MMO. :\ I've been playing it since beta (I also played XI), but I can definitely see why people have trouble with MMOs. XIV was definitely released too soon and it lacks a lot of content, but I still have high hopes for it.

Surprisingly, FFXI had a really great storyline toward the end because SE realized that they couldn't improve the graphics so they put more time into the story. It made it really awesome! I think the trap that SE has fallen into since FFX was worrying more about graphics than story, so at least with the MMO there's eventually a ceiling and story starts to matter. XD

These are the two guys I play FFXIV for: Carvallain (a surprisingly noble pirate captain--did anyone say Corsair? hehe); Asce (my very own path companion!); this guy doesn't hurt either, hehe. Or moments like these!

Hopefully XIV won't let me down once it's finally done being fixed up!

Well, that trailer made me want to subscribe to XIV. Especially now that I have a brand-new computer that can handle the processing. But I think I need to wait until summer... :D

I would definitely wait until summer! Sadly I can't endorse the game yet because of the state they released it in. :( It really is in piss-poor condition, but the new producer, Yoshi-P (as he likes being called), is really pushing hard to make it a respectable MMO. The horrible disasters in Japan affected the speed of development, but this month we're getting three patches that had the keyword content in them, so fingers crossed. @_@ Summer might be just the right time to join, though!

To entice you a little more, I was going to save this for the "favorite opening" but I'll go ahead and show you! :) FFXIV's opening cinematic footage, 100% spoiler free since, as of yet, it has very, very little to do with the storyline you're involved with. In fact it's only really referenced when you visit Mor Dhona and can walk up to the edge of the lake that the airship was felled in, the dragon still wrapped around it (sorry for the bad screenshot, the weather effect would not go away even though I made people wait ~1hr in hopes it would). I have ( ... )

That opening is AMAZING. Seriously, SE always knocks the FMVs out of the park, but that was gorgeous. Wow, if you could hook me up, I would happily play after the seniors graduate! I don't like only raiding (which is why I stopped playing EQII) or having to be in a group (so I never picked up FFXI), but I read that XIV balanced solo and group so you can do more on your own, which is appealing.

Thanks so much for the offer! ♥

Isn't it? I think it's one of their best. I mean, obviously their graphics improved a lot, but they managed to capture the whole feel of the game in such stunning detail. It's too bad that it's just an "optional" thing to watch at the title screen (unlike the FFXI opening sequence which started every.single.time. you opened the game...FFXIV has done really well in balancing their gameplay so far, too. Getting into the mid-levels (~30) can be done very, very easily completely on one's own, and thanks to the levequests (short quests that are really great for EXP) you can choose to group with others or not. My husband and I have two friends that we play together with, usually just ~2 hours a night, and we're already in the 40s ( ... )

I hesitantly picked up FFXI, and I was hooked since then. :x I was really excited about XIV since it was announced since I was mostly done with XI by then. I just love being able to met and hang out with people from all over the world, and like I said somewhere above, over time SE stops worrying about graphics and starts caring about story again. Thus FFXI birthed Prishe, and we're all happy for that one after Dissidia. :)
