Finland wins World Championship in ice hockey, 6-1 against Sweden. The first goal - twenty or so seconds until the end of the second period, Sweden in the lead - was pretty amazing, I must say.

congrats! this story is happy end!

Congratulations! :D

I'm... kinda glad I'm not much of a hockey enthusiast right now, haha. "Humiliated" and "slaughtered" seem to be the most recurring words in the morning newspaper here today.

And parts of Finnish media seem to be less interested in us having won the championship than in beating Sweden, god we're petty bastards.

It was an even match until the utterly ridiculous last period, so everyone played a good game. :)

Haha, and the media here would have done the same if we had won, so we're no better.

Yeah, I didn't follow the match that closely, but one moment I checked and it was 1-0 to Sweden, and when I came back a little later Finland had suddenly made five goals. It was a really impressive catch-up.
