Aw, you're gonna love all the weirdos on this show.
Interesting thing about this show is that season 1 is so different. Plot wise. Just like with Lost, JJ had more control over the first season. But the interesting thing is that with Lost, JJ's influence helped the show. Once he left and Darlton started taking over the direction, the show started to slide. With Fringe, he wanted it to be a serialized show. No real over arcing story. But Fringe has a LOT of season 1 Lost writers. And season 2 takes off. The first season finale is the game changer and sets up season 2. Then season 2 has the arc story. And it syncs all the way back to the pilot. Made me feel Dexter love for this show.
Best thing though? The character stories are built into the mythology.
Thats exactly what I was thinking watching it. I haven't been giddy while watching a TV show since Lost's 2nd and maybe 4th season. And Dollhouse. I forgive JJ almost completely.
I remember just liking season 1. Not LOVING it or anything. It was fun to watch. But you never became very attached to the characters or anything, so it was more of a fun monster movie to watch. But season 2, even with my doubts at the beginning, fucking took off.
I'm so impressed by this show.
They kept the writers that Lost tossed out in season 1. And look where that took Lost.
