Maybe Jacob is evil too. In his own way. When he interferes with certain characters off the island, at different points in their life.

Each one he touches, he curses.

Interesting theory! It's definitely a good point to notice, plus even though Jacob is The Man In White and, as Lost seems to be implying, the force of Good, he does not seem to be a particularly good man.
