Worse than yesterday. Infection can be smelt through the bandages. Dad is very depressed and lethargic.

Wish I could help. Too far away even to help as much as I normally could. ETA: Has his priest seen him?

He went to confession before the surgery. I've told the parish that he's in hospital. There's a priest who visits people who have requested, and I put in a request for that, as well as for a social worker to talk with him. I was there from 11 to noon, and one hadn't been by yet. Kath was there afterwards, and he didn't mention if he'd seen one.

He's feeling pretty abandoned by God, and said as much. Just not healing. All this from a scratch on his foot by a badly fitting shoe from last October.
