I shouldn't read fandomsecrets comments...

Alright. I'm done.

From this point on, on the internet, I have no opinion on race, gender, ableism, etc. None.

I know I'm privileged. I'm white, went to university, don't face much discrimination, and there are more factors than I can list in how I got to where I am now, which is a pretty awesome place to be.

But I'm tired. I'm not going to argue. ( Read more... )

drama, rant

Reading fandom secrets has made me realise what it is about 90% of fandom people that I fucking hate.

They're retarded and need to get off their computers.

This is why I'm not active in fandoms xD

You're not active in fandoms because you're too busy being awesome away from your computer anyway. XD

Yeah that too. To be honest, I think lots of people in fandom are such bitches/idiots online BECAUSE they never do anything social away from their computers.

But of course saying that makes me a bitch >.>

I'm pretty sure about 75% of those comments are trolling in one way or another. That and just not participating in any secret thread that in any way relates to race or gender or ablism or homophobia or anything is the only way I can keep from pulling my brain out.

I'm some kind of masochist moth. I keep being drawn into drama even when I know I should resist looking at it for my own continued sanity.

Not a black crippled lesbian bipolar lower-class single mom with some obscure religion living in a third world country? You don't know shit about social rights.

This.

I've come to realize that I cannot laugh at offensive jokes, or think that Family Guy/South Park/juvenile humor is funny, without being a terrible person. I'm not even saying that sardonically; laughing at offensive things that hurt other people is mean, and awful, and I don't really blame the people who think it's terrible. But I've also come to realize that my sense of humor is mean, dark, and generally stupid. So I think it's just me getting tired of having to apologize for it. "Yes, I know, that show is awful. I still enjoy watching it. I'm sorry."

blah blah tl;dr

You know what? I'm gonna go make some beef stew and listen to christmas music.

I saw your comments. Your social justice wasn't the annoying, condescending kind that's being referred to. <3

<3 ;_;

It's so important to me, so it makes me sad to see social justice issues looked down upon and such... but there were also a lot of jerks in that thread, so I can see where you're coming from.
