Family can be totally irrational. Sorry yours is going a great distance out of their way to muck up everything. >.< There is one nice thing about the distance, though, which is that hopefully they'll be able to get their heads together and will be rational about it all by the next time you talk to them.
I hate crying in front of people, too -- having to comfort someone who's crying is wretchedly awkward, and I hate feeling like I'm putting people in that position. (Also, I'm vain, and whatever Hollywood says, no one looks good crying.)
And it's not really an emo rant if you've got a legitimate subject -- which you do, hon. Rant away; we're here for you. ♥
Yeah. I love them and all, but sometimes they just drive me insane. Thank you, sweetie. And I hope so. In any case, they'll probably leave me alone for a bit, and I have no intention of rushing to call. So I'll have a week or so of peace, hopefully.
I'm ok comforting others, but when it comes to being comforted... It's just me being all proud and insecure and pesky and Charlotte. As well as the vanity thing. You're very right - no one looks good crying, at least not after the first couple of quiet tears. Then you just go all bright pink and sniffly with a scrunched up face. Not a good look. =]
Also, the hiccups stick for ages.
*hugs* Thank you so much... I may have a legitimate subject, but that doesn't mean it's ok for me to unload on you like this. Sorry for that. Thank you for being such a darling about it all.
*tries to remember how to do the little heart thing... And can't. Fail.*
*hugs back hard too* Thank you so much... I always feel like I'm being so pathetic when I get like this (well, for now, I guess it's that, now I feel better), even if I know I have a perfectly good reason for it. I guess it's a mix of the pride, insecurity and inferiority. *sigh*
Hmmm... I didn't try ice-cream, actually - cake was readily available, so... But I may have to try it next time. Especially if I can get my mitts on some Ben and Jerry's Half Baked. The drinking worked and all, but the next morning was hellish.
*hugs like a loon* You... Thank you so much. Really. It was so sweet of you to put those links in for me... Your thoughtfulness actually has me a bit teary-eyed. *wobbly smile*
I always, always love my family. No matter what. But I have to say that I don't always like them.
I somehow doubt that you could vie for the title of "Worst Daughter Ever," y'know. You put yourself down so often, but I simply can't see it! I know people are a bit different online than in real life, but a good person is a good person and your kindness never feels faked at all, so I can only conclude that you're a better person than you think.
Thank you for the "not pathetic" remark. I think it's due to my pride and then the fact that I can't help but feel that others would handle it better so I should do as well, but I can't - hence, I see myself as pretty pathetic. But I guess on things like this I'm allowed to be a little on the pathetic side. =]
