Books I've read/am reading:

The Maze Runner by James Dashner
This gives off a very "actiony teen boyish novel" sort of feel, but it sure was a page turner! I stayed up till 12:30 at night reading this (which probably wasn't the best decision I've ever made, but whatever.)
I've read various books with a similar tone in my youth, but this is quite good

On the NaNo front, I feel like sometimes you really need to just roll with it. You can always rewrite and fix inconsistencies later, if it doesn't quite work out. My novel from last year definitely needed some serious rewriting to fix the gaping plot holes and that thing where I actually forgot about a characters partway through. She just disappeared around 15k words in, never to be seen again. XD
