Costuming!!!

Okay, it looks like I'll be doing up some costumes for the kids for GenCon. Molly will most likely be a fairy (either Simplicity's 2857 or 2875For Sean we were originally thinking knight/adventurer DnD kinda thing, but I now I've got the idea to maybe do Steampunk instead. Eep! Well, there is the community steamfashion, check through their tags for some good sources for stuff, and a lot of how-tos on Maverick modding.

Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks! I found some welding goggles to mod. And I think I found a vest pattern that works. I don't think I'll be finding a frock coat in Sean's size tho'.

From what I've seen so far, boys coats of the time were different from the neater looking men's frock coats of the same period. Which is a bummer, since I like the look of the men's coat. Oh, well, if only I was good at shrinking the pattern.

Yay! I think I found a pattern that's almost perfect for a child's size frock coat. It's actually a pattern for a saddle suit.
