Have any of my fellow Rik Mayall fans seen the film version of Whoops Apocalypse? I've just been watching it now. Very 80s and British. Bit odd and daft in places but if it's got Peter Cook, Alexi Sayle, Rik Mayall and Robert Bathurst all on the same cast list then I'm not complaining ( Read more... )

i remember renting that movie a looong time ago, at the peak of my Rik Mayall obsession. i didn't really get the plot, but i loved Rik's part, as usual. ^_^

The bit I love more than anything is when he's *speaking normally*. His normal voice never fails to take me by surprise (which it does a fair few times in Drop Dead Fred) because I'm so used to TEH SHOUTING!!!

I got Trev and Simon last night, which I was quite impressed by in a nostalgic way but I think I'd rather have Rik, lol. What was he doing? Whenever he crops up in my dreams he's always running a market joke stall for some bizarre reason.

Hee hee a market stall!
He was my next door neighbour, and he was in character as Kevin Turvey (which is fitting, considering where I live). It wasn't a particularily fascinating dream, he was ringing our doorbell, and when I answered the door, he just said "Oh no, I didn't want anyone, I just like the doorbell."
