I was surprised by the difference between this story and all the other post-6.22 stories- the fact that nothing Dean does is eliciting a response at all might just be more heartbreaking than in the others (including my own) where he's hallucinating and seizing and such. I wasn't anticipating being brought close to tears, but boy did you manage it.

This was really good - sparingly written which I liked and the Dean voice was perfect. I like the fact that Sam is medicated but no one knows if he is going to get through it or not!

I love that Sam still ate up for Dean and was still doing what his big brother told him - almost by instinct!

Finally got LJ, though only to read others stories as I don't write and found this due to Wallflowergirl's story from your prompt! Do miss you on ff.net!
Great story, true to the prompt. No way would Dean want to leave his little brother in an institution, so medicated that he couldn't tell if Sam was like that because of the drugs or the wall coming down, and can so imagine him persuading Bobby to create a diversion so he could spring Sam from there. Loved that even though Sam was out of it he responded to Dean and ate his dinner and still recognised his brother.
I know it is just a one-shot but would love to read more and see how Sam gets on now he is back at Bobby's!
