oh yes - these are the tools of my trade (well not "trade" in the literal sense as that sounds a bit...well....risque) hair pin end to unscrew all those fiddly little screws everywhere and the make-up brush to gently get rid of all the little fuzzies that Toshiba Satellites of this model suck in (noted problem that is apparently too minor for Toshiba to recall them...i've burnt out 2 fans already and thats with monthly cleaning) so i took everything apart, unplugged bits and set them out to cool, cleaned what i could of the inside and after an hour plugged em all back in again...and it has since made no more funny noises, nor has it decided it was going to show me a blue screen of death and start a physical memory dump.... voila. and they would have charged me $200 to do that at the computer place. bah, i say! if the warranty is expired, have a crack at it yourself. this has been my reasoning. and i've fixed all sorts of fan problems and thingys becoming unplugged with other people's computers. my roomie for example - she found it
( ... )
lol thanks - my uncle was pretty impressed since people are generally scared to take computers apart themselves...though....when i think of it there is a family tendancy to take things apart...on BOTH sides...so my taker-aparter just isn't cars or clocks :)
LOL, Sounds like a fun surgery... Great sense of humor, :D I thought you were in the UK now... :S (confused) Where are you/where are you going to school? :) But it's so much better to skip the shower for early classes!! But guys always make us go overboard huh :D Good Motivation though!! :)
lol my poor little Toshi has been operated so many times i'm surprised he's got all his peices left. Someday i'm going to remove something vital and limb-like to a computer and he's just going to give up and croak on me :S!
i've been in the uk for the last few years when i'm not at uni (Dalhousie) but will probably stay in Hali this summer unless i can find a job in London/Croatia with my friend lol i just float back and forth from country to country when the opportunity and notion strikes me lol.
oh ya tell me about motivation! i takes a cute guy to jolt me out of my slobbery lol no more crawling out of bed half an hour before i have to be in class! makes monday's seem a lot more appealing now too haha!
You're crazy. I hope your warranty was already expired, cause there's no way in hell Toshiba's going to fix your lappy now that you've tinkered with it.
Hey, it's ok to be obsessed with the P&P soundtrack. It's awesome. As is the Chronicles of Narnia soundtrack.
oh it expired in second year....convieniently a month before my fan tried to explode my computer :P so i was like - what the heck i might as well take a crack at it myself before i pay someone else $120 when all they do it take out a few screws!
