Severe Weather

This past weekend I graduated from UT! I'll be posting pictures later, but for now I would just like to say that there's really no better way to be welcomed back to the DFW area than with a bout of severe weather. Seriously, we don't get this stuff in Austin; the monotony of the weather down there kills me. So, about last night... insane! I thought

LOL yeah, the minute the sirens went off in Mesquite, my husband and I both immediately headed for the front door to go look at the sky. What a weird reaction that is, but it was the instantaneous reaction for both of us.

Haha! Yeah, our default reaction when the sirens go off around here is to either run to the windows or just plain run outside to get a better look. I think it's hilarious because it's the complete opposite of what the sirens are telling us to do... not to mention dangerous and, without a doubt, more than a little stupid. But gosh darnit, if there's going to be a tornado nearby I want to see it!!

I had to work last night, but I waited out the first round of sirens before getting on the road. And sure enough, when I did leave a good chunk of the people in my neighbourhood were standing in the middle of the road watching the lightening.
