Bodyguards, handlers, minders... so many words to describe them. You brought up an interesting point; I'd never really thought of it, but when I get appointed as a chaperone or a personal assistant, or even when I looked after my kids (students) or my younger sibs, I tended to do this ( ... )

Lol! I'm glad that by reading this you learned something about yourself! I don't think I've ever been in a position where I was looking after someone so I can't say I've ever done it myself, but who knows? All I know is that I'm pretty sure it would drive me crazy if someone was doing it to me! I would be wanting to shake them off... that hand, that constant presence. Still, it's very interesting to read about how you've found yourself unintentionally doing it around those you watched over.

Somehow it always seemed natural to me that people like the TH boys, for example, would get that kind of treatment because they were (and still are, of course) quite young and, just... I don't know. For whatever reason I always got that impression that they needed the extra layer of protection from the masses. Well, Chris is very much the same way, so I totally see it. He'll be turning twenty-one soon and yet he's already so accomplished, so high-profile, and he's just one of those people who you feel could use some additional looking after. ( ... )

Yes, I realise I tend to do all that when the ones I'm in charge of are younger or seem less capable. In the huge crowds when I did my pilgrimage, I think I just went into self-defense mode with one of my friends who was afraid of crowds. In a way, I think it's natural, in my case, that need to protect.

But for bodyguards, they're trained and paid to do that, and the people they guard basically know what they're in for, I think. It'll probably take some getting used to, especially if you're an independent personality and not a touchy-feely person, but I guess, for the sake of safety, it's a small price to pay :)

I agree with your assessment of how much Dalton has helped Kurt. BB can fly now. ♥

I've been mostly offline for the past week so where are these club Chris Darren quotes???? eeeee Also I was mostly out of the city while they were filming last week so arrgghhhhhhh, But yeah cute pics. :)

Also totally got the Saki vibe. Seeing the bodyguards/handlers (does Darren have one because I think he needs one now, not just his manager . . .) gives peace of mind that someone is looking out for them in the midst of a crowd. Not wishing anything but you never know, you know?

"BB can fly now." Gosh, I just love that. :*) Speaking of flying, I've gotta get back to that winged!Kurt & Blaine picture I started... because yes, it was bound to happen sooner or later!

The Club Chris quote... lol it wasn't much, but it was still cute. It comes from a recent Billboard Q&A with Darren, and he talks about Chris having a disco ball and laser lights in his trailer. The interview is in video format, split into five parts and posted here.

No idea if Darren has a bodyguard or not, but I completely agree with him needing one. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me that Chris would have one until I saw the photos, and then I was all, 'Oh, of course!' No idea what interview it's from, but I saw a gif somewhere recently where Chris was saying that his publicist had to pull a woman off of him because she was literally clinging to him. :/
