I am convinced that were the writers of Smallville actually allowed to use the Batman character that Jensen Ackles would have played young Bruce Wayne instead of the made up character Jason Teague

Not only that, Dean probably wouldn't exist without Jensen. IIRC the show was supposed to be about Sam only but when Jensen auditioned they knew he wasn't right for Sam but was too good to pass up so they changed the whole idea of the show.
