I haven't watched Smallville in years. I was really into it for a while, but I kept feeling like they were just teasing with the idea that he would become Superman because it never happened, no matter what they would imply was coming in the next season. I actually didn't even know it was still running.

Yeah, it like one of the longest running most popular shows on the WB, and I think its partly because they have been keeping everyone in suspense. Everyone is like, "Is he Superman yet, now, is he Superman now..." and so on, but supposed since this is the "last season" he will finally become Superman and face the ultimate evil Darkside. First episode showed the Superman costume and Clark was going to don the cape, but the Jor El was all, "YOU ARE NOT READY!!!" An then at very end you see Darkside. All exciting things, but I'm still skeptical. I heard rumors they never want to actually show Clark in costume, which is bull shit! And in the last episode Clark was all in black and almost killed someone!!! Superman does not kill people, he's suppose to be the boy scout! Damn it! I get that he's a angsty teen or something, but Superman would never almost kill someone no matter what age, ever!

Haha, no it's fine. I can kind of understand them not wanting to put him in the Superman costume though. I myself was wondering how it would work out because it's become such a kitschy kind of look by now. It's like the costume that is always thought of when talking about silly superhero costumes, but it's so iconic that they couldn't do much to modernize it.

It is iconic! I can understand not wanting it to happen in the majority of the show because Smallvile has always been about young Clark becoming Superman, but honestly at this point the show has kind of become a tease as far as the whole Superman thing goes. We all know he is going to become Superman, and since its the "last season" I think the fans deserve to seem him in the costume and see that he has matured into this great hero. Some like brief clip at the end of the season in the cape, I think would be cheap and kind of predictable.
