I'm already whittling down my costume plans for Dragon*Con next year. For now I'm sticking to financially feasable costumes. The revised list:

I like the John Preston idea! I'd like to see that costume when it is done.

Thanks. I'll probably post my progress with it. The only issue will be taking off my goatee. Me (and my wife) both like it and it'll be difficult to part with it. Lupin has a mustache, so I'll probably get rid of it in stages.

It'll grow out eventually anyway :)

Stacy's duster may work for your Lupin costume. It didn't work so much for Aragorn, but as tattered as it is, I think it'd be perfect for ole remus :D

Ahh, I can see what you mean about it not working for Aragorn. I definitely see it on Lupin :)

Overall I found it enjoyable. There were a few details that grated me, but I was able to overlook them. In watching it, I was thinking how it felt like a comic book. I didn't know at the time that the character and story was based on a DC comic (Hellrazer, I believe). I give it 3.5 stars out of 5. Not a bad portrayal of spiritual warfare made manifest.

I wonder how Keanu continues to get these out-of-the-norm cyberpunk/spiritual roles (Matrix, Johnny Mneumonic, the upcoming A Scanner Darkly, etc..)...

I imagine it was his role in Johnny Mnemonic led to his role as Neo. Too bad William Gibson didn't treat that screenplay adaption a little better in JM.

These patterns might be of some use to you.

Simplicity has more of the movie style patterns but the Butterick pattern is an old west style with an overcoat/duster that might work for your ranger.

Thanks!!!

I'm plan to get McCall's 4546 for the 'cleric' coat. I already have a trenchcoat/duster pattern, I forget which one. I believe I already have 5840 also (it's what I made my Jedi robe from). Oooo, 9887 would be perfect for a Lupin's robe, perhaps. I really need to take a look at the movie again.

Just found that site. You might be able to find some Ranger boots there.

I'd join you if I knew my way around a sewing machine... of course, provided I even owned one... :)

There were no female Clerics, were there? lol

I know my way around a sewing machine. Yeah, guys sew too :)

Hrm, just because they didn't show any doesn't mean there weren't any. Perhaps they trained in another level :)

I know!!! I have them bookmarked, at least for reference :) I'm thinking there's no way I'll be able to get $450+ allocated for one of them... Maybe they'll have a sale? (doubtful since they're make em after you order, I believe...)
