Walking in shadows...

Phantoms lured me off my course
Tried to kill the man I was
You sent a guiding light
Lead me to my lavish bride

I don't listen to secular goth very often, but in such dark moods I find myself drawn to it. No matter how much I struggle, clothing myself in the shadows, feeding my seething anger, stewing in my own ( Read more... )

Thanks. As much as I crave the light, sometime I can only find comfort in the darkness. To deny that part of me would only cause me to be more susceptible to things I ought not entertain. However, I have learned to always keep at least a small flame with me!

I too have been going through some things past few days that have forced me to deal with my darker side. Granted, from what I've read, you've gone through a lot of high-stress stuff yourself (moving is a big one!).

I've often wondered if I am more inclined towards darkness or light. Though I find myself alternating between the two in an almost cyclical manner. Perhaps I'm in synch with the moon or other natural occurance?

As humans, mortals, here on Earth, we have some of the light and the dark within us. We are drawn to the light, but we can't deny the dark in our nature. It is a part of us, it is a place of refuge and a place of self. Each aspect is necessary though-- denying the light is detrimental ( ... )

Well said. To me, the darkness sometimes makes the light easier to find, and definitely makes me cherish the light.

Great Star Wars tie-in! I've always wondered how the Jedi Council interpreted that Anakin would 'bring balance to the force'. Thousands of Jedi, two sith. Interesting that at the beginning of EpIV, there were exactly two and two. Balance achieved!

That was exactly what I thought when I heard about the prophecy-- down to 2 and 2.

Incidentally, just wanted to say you've posted a lot of really interesting, thought-provoking posts of late. They're enjoyable to read. =)

Thank you! External and internal struggles often lead to inspired thoughts. It sometimes helps airing them out in a semi-public journal to get a sort of reality check.

"I still walk in the shadows, but now hold the flame of truth in my hand, guiding my way."

i like that thought a lot. and you voice my feelings so well. it's almost poetry. your phrase reminds me of the 23rd psalm. "Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], comfort me."

Thanks. I honestly was not consciously thinking of that Psalm, but I'm sure it was bubbling in my subconscious, driving my thoughts.
