so after my insane scrooge like anti-halloween entry, i was listening to eric and kathy on the radio this morning and they had this contests where contestants told their scary stories to win a prize. the winning story was this. it's true and freaked me out, so hopefully you will get a scare too! enjoy! it's not word for word, so please forgive me. um. wow. i didn't think my silly story would involve so much argument and opinion! while i greatly appreciate the insight you are both putting into this discussion, i would also hope you aren't hating on eachother with insults or other remarks. because um...then i would have to delete this entry or at least these comments because the last thing i want is some sort of lj related drama with my journal.

other than that, thank you for your responses. and seeing that it is now november 1, i hope you both had a wonderful halloween--and that you enjoy this somewhat cold Day of the Dead.

sometimes you don't really need to proof to believe in something. sometimes it's a matter of faith or opinion. we can hardly prove there is a God (or gods for that matter), but people tie their faith into hoping there is something more out there. that has nothing to do with psychics, but eh.

I'd go even further, and say that belief is the diametric opposite to knowledge/proof. If there was proof, there'd be no requirement of faith. There's a huge gulf between proof and belief, and that's what the argument was concerning. I find it endlessly problematic when someone insists that something is proof when it is really thinly-veiled faith masquerading as fact.
