I've always rather thought that one of the best ways to understand you own religion is to study other's religions...

I have to agree. A friend lent me A Quaker Book of Wisdom by Robert Lawrence Smith, which I'm hoping I'll get a lot from.

Mwahahahaha, if you want Quaker book recommendations, I'm your woman.

Thomas Kelley's A Testament of Devotion is purely remarkable. It's one of the best spiritual books I've ever read- easily up there with Merton's Seeds of Contemplation, and it deeply impacted the way I look at my prayer life.
