MAN. Taste has saved my life too many times for me to discard it so readily.
Quite a few years ago, I created a batch of characters that each had a faulty/missing sense, so I've had to give this some thought. Having had sinus issues for much of my life, I have actually gone without the sense of smell for a while, so I think I'd chose that. I rely on the other scenes for my very survival too much to be willing to part with any of them.
Given that my inner parent and inner child are constantly having knock-out, drag-out fights ("CLEAN YOUR ROOM" "I DON'T WANT TO,") losing my sense of taste would cut out the middleman: if I can't taste how good it is, I won't eat it in excess.
Besides... I love looking, listening, and smelling too much to let them go; these are the senses that bring me joy.

It looks like taste would be pretty worthless without smell.

Then I realized labeling the senses as those five (as well as the fact they're all allegedly separate) pretty much defies biology, so I'm good.
