... I don't think you have to use it, but it makes communicating with others easier. And you don't talk to it, per se, but you use it to talk to others.

Wait... talk to others? Like one of those new-fangled 'telephones' Sharon was trying to get? They have wires though... long ones at that. [has no idea that phones are a lot more advanced now than they were 100 years ago.]
