Kuala Lumpur photos: 2nd to 4th November

The conference went surprisingly well. I was terrified about my part of the speech and Ant, British Chap and everyone were laughing at me. The Canadian had to drag my reluctant carcass out of bed because I was so scared. The breakfast was wonderful but I could not enjoy it because of nerves.

The speeches were by the China head, the Asia head and alkso one of the International Heads from Germany. His speech was Long And Earnest and to my horror my flippant little talk was next.

I got up and sat on stage with the others. Then Big Boss #2 called me up. I was too short to be seen behind the podium so I kept standing on tip toes and everyone was laughing at me

That was embarrassing but it was also an ice breaker. I did my little Babble Babble and it went smoothly with no mishaps.

To my surprise Big Boss #2 and New Boss loved it as did the other bosses. They all came up to say nice things. Then Singapore Guy said he loved the speech and all the people in his row had been going: "Who is that girl? We like her speech!"

Then Mini Takeshi said he loved the speech because it was down to earth and my "personality came through" as opposed to all the formality and pomposity.

Lots of people from all the different offices came up afterwards to say how much they enjoyed the talk and that was nice and all the bosses seemed really happy and kept complimenting me.

This was the scary light in the conference hall.

This was our hotel room at the Westin.

I laughed because The Canadian stowed his stuff neatly under the desk.

Whereas I flung my stuff everywhere.

Nice bathroom

The room itself was also very nice.

On Saturday when I was at the conference, The Canadian wandered around KL on his own.

Saturday night I snuck out of the party to go back early and we went for a walk. This amused me.

We met up with Singapore Girl and Ant for breakfast on Sunday. I have to say that breakfast at the Western is amazing. There's also a huge separate bakery 'room' where you can get pastries, waffles, pancakes and other things. It's deceptive because you think you have to buy things but they're all part of the buffet.

Some random photos around KL taken by The Canadian.
