I need to re-watch the pilot because I have to admit that the pilot did not immediately grab me the first time I watched it. It actually took a second attempt before I liked it.
Koala, I'm impressed with your dedication at watching something twice after you disliked it the first time! I have had a dvd of 2046 for months now but haven't watched it yet because as you know I wasn't crazy about it although I only saw it once, 2 years ago. I will watch it a second time though and see if I like it more. Your passion for the things you love is very persuasive. :) Btw, speaking of good TV shows, there is a new Aussie one called City Homicide which started recently which is quite good.

*laugh* I didn't watch the Pilot all the way through. I got about 15 minutes in and gave up. A few weeks later I tried again because the premise sounded appealing. I'll keep an eye out for City Homicide so thank you very much!!! My bro is very good for sending me pockets of Australian culture :)

As to 2046, good luck with your rewatch! My brother has tried to watch it 3 times and fallen asleep each time ;) You know my endless pic spams about the topic so I won't reiterate everythign I said. If I have to crystallise the things that linger for me:

1. Faye
2. Faye and Tak
3. how Tony Leung's character is trying to run away from the man he was in In the mood for love and become a Bad Man but fails
4. the thoughts about love and timing
5. the allusions to the 'legless bird' from 'Days of Being Wild' and the 'tie back' by having Perfidia playing when Lulu approaches the camera
6. how Leung makes Future Tak an idealised version of himself and yet find that he can't get the girl
7. the music! the music! :)
