I personally don't like slasher, horror or movies with gore. I am straight Scifi/fantasy fan, always have been always will be. I even worked some horror movie conventions back in the day. I could tell you what the big difference between scifi fans and horror movie fans are if you want to know?

Sheppard's comment on the clowns cracked me up. Classic scenes! For some reason the first clip won't play, and I don't remember what line you're talking about. Could you describe it?

What scares the crap out of me is the Burger King commercials with "The King". OMG!

The clown quote is one of the ones I mention here.

"You do not fear them?"
"The Wraith? Naah. Now *clowns* - that's another story."
- Sheppard and the doe-eyed Neera in the Wraith holding cell, "The Hive"

"We had no means to fight the Wraith. We are a simple, peaceful people."
"We're peaceful too, but the good news is, we have the means to put up a helluva fight."
"You have fought the Wraith before?"
"Lots of times. Won some battles; lost some. War's not over by a long shot, but we're managing to hold our own."
"And the clowns?"
"'The clowns'? Oh, yeah, the clowns. We fight them too - entire armies, spilling out of Volkswagons. We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending 'em in!"
- Neera and Sheppard, "The Hive"

*choke* I'm sorry the clips don't work. Do any of my youtube clips work for you, or none? :(

Ah Hee! That would be this one:

[Wraith plane display panel]: AUTO PILOT ENGAGED

Sheppard: "Oh, auto pilot! No, no, no, no, no!

[Wraith plane display panel]: DOCK PROCEDURE LOADED AND ACTIVATED

Sheppard: "R2, I need you to turn the auto pilot off! Now! (He looks at the screen but nothing happens.) Worth a try.

- Sheppard and Wraith Plane in "The Lost Boys"

I take it we won't be watching horror movies at our dvd marathon then? I must admit, I share your fears and overactive imagination - the only episode of Supernatural I saw was the Bloody Mary one, a friend and I watched it together and freaked ourselves out completely. I have a copy of the original Ring on tape but I've never been game to watch it - I saw the first few minutes of a prequel and it scared me enough. The only horror movie I saw at the cinema was the 1999 remake of The Haunting, and it was so stupid that most of the time you laughed instead of screamed (although there were a few moments...). Re Dr Who - when I first saw it at the age of 6 or 7 I couldn't watch it because the theme music terrified me!

There will definitely be no scary movies unless I'm outvoted or we're feeling particularly intrepid - or the both of you agree to stay here overnight to make sure I don't get nightmares :D I'm sure there are plenty of other things to watch ;)

I am just hoping that they're selling dvds again by the time you get here :P

I got so scared watching Silent Hill in theaters that I had a panic attack and I had to leave the theater for like, 10 minutes.
I'm usually not a huge fan of scary movies... I don't like being scared, but occasionally I'll watch them and sometimes I'll even be in the mood to watch them.
If I do watch them, I always prefer the psychological thrillers. I can't handle bloody/gorey/kill everyone and their uncle kind of movies.
Silent Hill was definently a very scary movie, as was the Ring, The Grudge (and the Grudge 2). The Ring 2 wasn't AS scary as the Ring, and it helped that me and one of my good friends watched it together in theaters and held hands for a large portion of it.

I'm not going to watch many/any more scary movies. :D I just don't think it's worth it given how terrified I get ;)

I loathe horror/thriller/scary movies. I hate how weak they make me feel for being so very disturbed by them. I'm familiar with only a few things on your list here, but to Dr Who's "The Empty Child," Terminator, Aliens, the Others, and The Ring I say "Oh yes, way too terrifying for me." I still have never watched Terminator all the way through--it bothered me so much when I tried to watch it when I was younger that I can't bring myself to try it again. Maybe I was too sheltered as a child, or have too active an imagination, I just don't know.

Another movie that scared me out of my pants? Serenity. Yep, the Firefly movie. Those Reavers, though, were absolutely horrifying and I don't see how more people weren't curled up on their seat, yelping during tense, suspenseful moments--and there were plenty ( ... )

Haha, just realized I'm replying to this on Friday the 13th. This amuses me.

Terminator I isn't worth watching now. It's still scary and creepy but the second Terminator was actually much better. :D

I agree that the Reavers are incredibly terrifying. I cannot believe you looked at the images - I was trying to be nice by having them as click throughs rather than on the page ;) Bahahaha
