Questions: Medium, youtube audio equivalents, Prison Break, vid-making

I have a few questions ...

Question 1: Does anyone know where to download transcripts / detailed episode summaries for the Patricia Arquette series Medium? My season 2 dvds (which I stupidly bought in Hong Kong) have dire problems. The third episode of every single disc has the last part cut off (approximately 15 minutes) so I'm left on a cliff hanger for every single third episode - which is such a pain in the proverbial.

For people who don't know, Medium is an excellent, relatively low-key show (given the subject matter) about a woman named Allison Dubois who lives a deceptively ordinary existence. Her husband Joe is an aerospace engineer, they have three little girls. The problem is, she sees dead people and has visions of violent crimes. Although she has had this 'curse' all her life, it's only in adulthood that she begins to realise that this is possibly a 'gift' that she can use to help people. Allison is hired as a consultant by District Attorney Manuel Davalos to assist him in his work. The interesting thing about the show is that it's not merely about the supernatural and psychic abilities, it's also how Allison juggles her 'career' and her work with family - both husband and children.

The extreme heat here in Beijing is making the floor boards of my apartment shrink and warp and so when I walk towards my room, it feels like the floor is kind of rippling and moving - which is not a great sensation after watching a show like Medium.

Many of the episodes are just interesting and not 'scary' as such so I could just become absorbed. There are a few moments though that are genuinely unsettling and scary.

a. In the episode 'Sweet Dreams', when a young Allison keeps seeing a creepy dead guy warning her about the fate of her friend.

b. When a poor, unfortunate young woman is trapped in a psychiatric hospital even though she is not ill. It's just so sad and the ending of the episode is so haunting I felt like crying.

c. The poltergeist-like haunting by the young girl Melanie Davenport of the Massey couple

d. Anything to do with the Dr Walker storyline. He's played by Mark A. Sheppard, a kind of evil Robbie Williams lookalike and he totally freaks me out because he's so creepy. I was particularly annoyed when this episode cut off because I really wanted to know what happened.

e. The episode 'The Still Life' where paintings are coming to life - faces turning, hands clawing down through paper, screams and howls coming through ..... *shudders*

I'm up to episode 13.

Also, this is really terrible of me and I know that Medium is based on a real-life story and in real life, Allison Dubois is married, but I just adore Detective Lee Scanlon who is played by an actor named David Cubitt.

It's not that he's good-looking per se, it's more that his character is so brave and dependable. He's also a lot more understanding sometimes than Allison's own husband. I have a love/hate relationship with Joe Dubois. Jake Weber portrays him beautifully. Sometimes I hate him because he seems to be so selfish, sexist and insensitive about his wife's needs and torment, but then other times, I realise that he is incredibly supportive and understanding. I realise that she can't do a lot of what she does without his help and input and they really do love each other.

Nonetheless, I can't help falling in love with Scanlon whose just so rough around the eyeserr edges, lovable and gruff. Is there any fan fic about Dubois and Scanlon? Or even Scanlon with Original Character? *sheepish look*

Question 2: I've been uploading some favourite clips to youtube. Is there a youtube equivalent for audio? It's not that I want to upload music, but I thought it could be kind of cool for voice posts because a lot of people often ask how to pronounce Chinese things or how things are pronounced in 'Australian', and it would be so much better to have a button to click on to listen instead of forcing people to download from sendspace. I know that LJ has a voicepost function, but if there was an audio-equivalent to youtube, that would be perfect.

Question 3: Season 2, Prison Break starts in the US on 21 August. I'm not sure how this corresponds to Beijing time. Is there anyone who is going to watch Prison Break who is intending to do a detailed, spoilery recap? There will presumably quite a delay for me as I'll have to download the episode from somewhere and then I might not be able to watch it immediately.

I know that there are a lot of comms out there and that there will be a lot of episode discussion, but the problem is that I personally find a lot of episode posts (about any show) incomprehensible. The running commentary format with flailings and squeeing is kind of useless if you're not watching it yourself at the same time. Episode posts are also useless because people tend to squee about certain aspects and it's hard to get a feel for the episode as a whole. Reviews are also useless because the reviewer, of course, does not want to spoil people - so what I need is an actual recap. :) It doesn't have to be painfully detailed, just a description of what happens to tide me over until I can see the episode for myself. :)

I would settle for a detailed of any vaguely Michael/Sara moments if the whole episode is too big an ask ...

Question 4: I've become completely enthralled by a song that winterspel recommended a while back called Desire of Ages from an album called The Dawnseeker by Sleepthief. It's so mesmerising and I can listen to it over and over again without becoming tired of it. It's so beautiful that it's not enough to just 'hear' it. I want to see it as well, but there's no MTV, so I thought maybe I could cobble together my own scenes of favourite vid moments from shows/movies/vid that I like.

I realise that sounds a little bizarre. [Updated: But if you've read my journal for like five seconds and not realised that I'm kind of weird .. well ...]

I wouldn't have a clue how to make a music video though so does anyone know a very, VERY basic 'how to make a vid' guide around plus software? I know that there are a lot of tutorials around and a quick search pulls up many, many tutorials, but the problem is I need a very basic, idiot-proof (koala-proof) tutorial. Oh and I guess I'll need to know how to do those flow mo fade shots as well because I suspect I'll have to do a lot of stretching out moments :D

being a wuss, my floor, sleepthief, prison break, michael/sara, questions, detective lee scanlon, medium, songs, things that scare the crap out of me
