Today I found it a little hard to wake up .... so I decided to ride my bike to uni given that it was already 7.25am and it was too late to catch the light rail. Fortunately it wasn't too cold - there also wasn't too much traffic so I made it to class in 10 minutes which is pretty good!!!( Read more... )

Thanks for the laugh - I mean not laughing at the bad bits but the up bits were quite amusing.

Got your card and passport now? Your furniture?

Card and passport are here but furniture and books are still being reviewed by customs. I'm particularly nervous about the books because even though I culled down to my Most Favourite Favourite Books - it ended up being 2 boxes :P My customs duty is going to be kind of bad .....

As I am reading away I found it funny that the Koreans that you are studying with don't like the Chinese food. I'm just the opposite. The times I have spent in Beijing I have no problems with the food and rarely question what I have eaten... In Seoul, on the other hand, I have serious issues with eating here and often don't go out (except in the military base) because I'm afraid of what I might be served. Isn't that ironic?

I was there two semesters and met dozens of Koreans and found the Koreans to be the fussiest of eaters! I had expected the Japanese would be the fussiest but it ended up being the Koreans. The problem was, they weren't just fussy about not wanting to eat Chinese food, when we ate Korean, they were so picky about what food we could eat. Sometimes eating became such an ordeal!!! On the plus side, I learned to eat Korean food last year - I wasn't really able to eat kim chee and pickley things before but now I'm pretty good ;)
