Random Scribble, meeting stones and standing fast
I know that lately my thoughts have been more random than usual. I feel like reading Random Scribblings - from everyone who cares to scribble even if people are not fan fic writers or they usually prefer to lurk or whatever. What I'll do is this. Please post and accept the 'challenge', I will assign one to three words to you and you have to write something back to me that uses that word, those words. It can be anything - a poem/limerick/story/piece of dialogue - or even just a normal post/comment to me. It can be fandom, original fiction, an observation on life - whatever. It can be as long or short as you want, you can make multiple posts, I just feel like seeing what thoughts fly out when people are prompted with certain words whether happy, sad, silly or matter-of-fact.
dontsniff has a gorgeous little post here from one of his former students in China who expresses a philosophy on tackling the adversities of life which made me smile and smile. :)
One of my favourite movies ever is Wong Kar Wai's movie Chungking Express that stars Faye Wong, Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro. syliasyliasylia has made some icons here that are wonderful. There can never be enough Chungking Express icons in the world ever. My love of this movie and the elfin, fey Faye is so vast that it causes me to grossly abuse and overuse italics in this post.
A while back, mellowdee was commenting on how I had been posting a lot of food posts at my journal, so I'm dedicating Food, glorious food from Oliver! to her :) This is from the 1994 London Palladium Cast Recording which is a fabulous production.
I was talking about goodbyes this morning and how they're really not great, so this is Ella Fitzgerald's song Ev'ry time we say goodbye. The lyrics are here.
