I don't have a problem with Singapore refusing to commute just because he isn't a Singaporean citizen, because that way lies chaos. Why should he be treated differently because he is from another country if he commits a crime in Singapore?

However, what on earth is the rationale for no contact (for anyone, Singaporean or not). Seems really really bizarre. The guy is going to die, might as well get a hug in.

I feel shell-shocked. I understand Singapore being strict about their laws, and certainly he was stupid to have done what he did, but for them to deny this one last request...
