Nora Roberts needs to be a bit more stringent about her movie adaptations ...

Don't ask me why but I decided to read Tribute by Nora Roberts. Lately I haven't been reading many romance novels because I haven't found many that I liked much.

Nora Roberts in particular has become something of a disappointment to me. I used to really like her. I loved novels like Montana Sky and the first two of the 'Born In' series. ( Read more... )

I've read Judith McNaught and like some of her books. I was a big fan of Anne Stuart and I like SOME Linda Howard, Elizabeth Lowell and Iris Johansen but lately all my favourite romance writers seem to be letting me down :P

I HAVE SEEN TRIBUTE! It's quite horrible. But I liked that Cilla was all buff with a sledgehammer while Ford was mostly a wimp. I'm not sure the last bit was intentional.

Those pictures are hilarious. Everyone looks really awkward and the photoshopping reaches new levels of bad.

The pictures are indeed ghastly. I cannot believe that you have watched Tribute! The horror! The book was pretty bad and I can only imagine how bad the movie was :D I mean - Brittney Murphy???

Yeah, I used to read her a lot, and while she's a good writer she really just kinda rewrites, it seems, andf not the entertaining way, like Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick. Thoughm I've pretty much completely switched to historicals for my romsnce novels.

I have shelves and shelves of romance novels from my uni days. Lately I don't read romance so much because my authors are all letting me down. I've regressed and gone back to Young adult for my fantasy and romance :P This may be sad

I largely stopped reading them in college, then only really started up again last year.

THE MIDNIGHT BAYOU ADAPTATION WAS A WORK OF GENIUS AND NOTHING WILL EVER CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.

(Er, I have never read a book of hers, but words cannot express how entertained I was by the film. The Northern Lights one made me hate the heroine so much I didn't even get to the giant potential bear mauling scene. Woes.)

I fear you!!

I tried to watch Montana Sky and the Claire Forlani one but gave upon both. Nora Roberts books should not be made into moofies ...

As to Northern Lights, I just cannot imagine LeAnne Rimes as a kickass female pilot :P
