We got up this morning at 7am - after having gone to bed at way past 3am. The reason? I have no idea why, but I was convinced the removalists were coming on Wednesday. It wasn't until 1.30am that the Canadian said: "Hmm, are you sure they're not coming on Tuesday?" My heart sank when I realised he was right so we ran around like headless chickens

You have my sympathies, having all the extra bureaucracy and the unknown elements of timing confounding matters for you. How long is it expected to take before your stuff arrives in Australia?

Our stuff was supposed to arrive in September but now with the delay it won't get here until October - fortunately in the interim we've been able to borrow a lot of stuff from Mama Koala so that we don't end up with duplicates of everything!

- what do you want to keep and what do you want to throw away/give away?
- what do you want to bring as carry on luggage, what will get shipped and come several months later?
Argh - each time I move I swear to myself that I'm going to stop buying things, that I'm going to stop saving souvenirs etc etc but I'm really bad at keeping such promises :)

I felt really embarrassed by all of our stuffed toys. I love them and would never part from them, but the movers were making fun of me and them and it made me feel awkward. :o(

No one laughed at our stuffed toys but in China, stuffed toys are pretty common :D I don't think anyone would think they were out of the ordinary, heh heh.
