雅-MIYAVI- Japan Tour 2010

2010/04/05 Fukuoka DRUM Be-1

Live Report #3

The City: Fukuoka is always a great place for a Miyavi show - the weather is hot and the kids are even hotter. It was a comparatively cool day - in fact it was downright cold once the sun went down, and we all wished we’d brought better coats with us for demachi - but aside from ( Read more... )

You're definitely someone who would know firsthand how difficult joking in your second language is, with all of them that you speak! You're one of the funniest non-native speakers that I know, though. And his English IS really amazing! He's even using it on his Japanese kids - though not to much effect. He can yell "Put your hands up!" all he wants, but no one really does anything until he's like "Te wo agerou!" I think he just likes the sound of the English, honestly XD

I'm so envious of you for your linguistic prowess - all I can speak is English, decent Japanese, and my French gets less and less passable the more time that passes. In 2008, Miyavi kept trying out his French on this one French chick that came to his shows, and she could never seem to understand a word he said, but it was an awesome effort nonetheless XD

LOL! More like "Hey, where are you from? Germany? Cool! And where are you from...? Taiwan? Neat! ....You're from NY. How about you guys?" Like he doesn't even ask me, he just tells everyone for me, now. It's embarassing sometimes, but the familiarity that it comes from is one of the greatest feelings ever. Apparently he's so used to me at this point that he feels perfectly comfortable arguing with me about American geography, as well. We had a little argument over the location of Portland in Kumamoto, but we're cool now, I guess XD ( ... )

The location of Portland? Who won that one? Surly there is an iPhone app for that! ;p ( ... )

OMG, just saw this comment, sorry!

No one won the argument about Portland - we just accidentally made each other feel stupid and subsequently got kind of snippy with one another. I will tell you the story via LJ message because it is pretty embarassing for everyone involved.

And I took a train to Matsuyama! I was thinking about a ferry but they're longer and, believe it or not, more expensive. If you've plotted out the tour route on a map, though, you'll notice that we head allllll the way up north before randomly coming back to Kobe. Nobody can quite figure out why this is, but it will make for one crazy adventure!

Miyavi DOES have calluses, though. Most people are shaking his right hand, but if you get ahold of his left they are super-duper noticeable. Looooooong fingers, too. He's funny to shake hands with because he doesn't ever seem to know when to let go, and usually ends up just holding your hand for a while. It's very cute <3
