... Which really wasn't, for a computer. Nice idea, anyway. Maybe he'd stick to playing chess online, instead. He usually defeated his human opponents, but once in a while they did surprise him with an unexpected move that changed the whole game.

The situation is under control ...
See, what happened was ...
Michael start and dismissed around half a dozen approaches to the report to Roger on his way downstairs; this was gonna be a toughie. Hey, Rog - we hit Penn with a bunch of aliens trying to find a vampire ... Yeahhhh, like he was gonna believe that!
For a second he considered plastering a smile on his face before goin in the see Kitt, but thought better of it. Assuming Kitt didn't see right through it in the very first instant, Michael probably couldn't keep it up for long. Instead he just pushed open the door and went in, letting his expression fall where it may.
"Hey, buddy."

He liked and respected Roger, and once the guy was officially CEO Michael had been intending to bring him down, take him for a spin in Kitt and spill the beans about the ... yeah, them. She touched her hand to the thumb-print scanner that lead to the secure garage, not really expecting anyone else to be there.

Michael heard the sound of the door and the soft footsteps, and in spite of the fact that the security system wouldn't have allowed anyone unauthorised into the building he made sure that Kitt and Kitt's trusty MBS were between him and the newcomer when she arrived.
"Hi there."

"Oh, sorry," She said, "I didn't realise anybody else was in here."
She set down her laptop bag and held out her hand, the light from the overhead flourescent lights shining off the shiny satin of her blue poet's shirt.
"I don't think we've been properly introduced," She smiled, "I'm Dannie Blaze, Chief Technical Supervisor."

"I'm afraid the lack of introduction has been completely my fault. Something which I'm ... extremely sorry for." Almost a cocky grin, subdued as he remembered that Dannie was an employee. "Was there something you need to be working on here? Cos I can get out of your way ... ?"
