Eyes...

...they're supposed to be the windows to the soul right? And I feel that anime really plays up to that idea by giving their characters very large and experssive eyes. So I sat down in front of my computer , grabbed my tablet , booted up photoshop and started to practise on colouring eyes. I'll admit colouring the eyes of a character is my favourite part of cging or making traditional art :3....



First I took an old pice of line art see and went to town with it XD...



Aqua-blue eyes , blurring , smudging, layers set to multiply mode , colour dodging and white sparkly bits and off white shiny dots :D! Awww she's blushing X3!



Orangy-goldy-brownie(lol) eyes...I'm rather partial to the colour orange myself. Still lots of blurring , smudging , multiply layers , colour dodging , bits of black near the top of the iris , bits of white for the shiny part of the iris and an off white for the shiny dots.



PERFECTION <3...same steps as the second one....I'm finally making pretty eyes like all the good moe(cutesy) anime people ;_;!

And here is the tutorial that gave me a head start with the colouring :D! Well I gotta finish reading this really nice anatomy book I got so that's all for now :D!

EDIT-Here's a little update for 2008! As I've cg'ed a lot of eyes since this entry was originally posted :P!





Still with the aqua-blue eyes.

I have a thing for characters and people with green eyes :o!
