As some of you might have heard, New England got hit with a mighty big snowstorm last night and today. I took advantange of the enforced day off to finally finish a pair of socks for my three-year old.
I used Premier Serenity sockweight in Spring Fling colorway (variegated pinks and purples, with some blue and orange thrown in) and size 2 needles to give me 8 stitches/inch. The pattern was the Basic Sock pattern from Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns, my favorite go-to sock pattern, and since it's plain and simple, it shows off varigated yarns nicely. All the other details are on Ravelry (I'm QuantumLobster over there, as well, feel free to add me and say "hi").
They were supposed to have been for last Christmas, but luckily my three-year old is a forgiving soul. Towards the end of the second sock, however, she began to get impatient and would follow me around the house with my knitting in her pudgy little hand, saying, "Mommy, finish sockie now, please?"
They came out quite nicely, I think, and as the picture shows, they pass the smile test!
