The Last Time They Closed Northwestern
Classes cancelled at NU today; the last time that happened was my freshman year. All roads closed in Lake County -- and that's never happened before in the 40+ years my family's lived there. We were living in Milwaukee and missed the big blizzard of 67, but this one is going to give my family stories to tell for a long time

My friend Rob works up on Lake-Cook Rd and clocked out at 4:50 pm, leaving his car there to take public transit home. He finally arrived home at 2:20 after spending 5+ hrs at Ogilvie waiting on a train to go up to Rogers Park.
I still can't believe his employer let people work that late, either.
