Emily stepped through the gateway, disappointment filling her at the sight of the near barren landscape. This was not a place to bring the Tribe, especially when something large bellowed in the distance.
She turned, frowning when she spotted something out of place. She closed her eyes and bowed her head when she found the graves.
Emily started at a sound, spinning with her knife in her hand. Her eyes widened at the bloodied man before her; from his bearing he was military, and hence dangerous - even if his grey eyes were unfocused and he looked barely able to stand.
