“How are the peace talks going?” Lyle enquired as he sipped wine while he sprawled on the luxurious bed they'd been given but so far not had the chance to enjoy.
Lester pinched his nose before sitting down heavily on the bed with a sigh. “Slowly.”
“Poor baby.” Lyle chuckled unsympathetically before hastily adding when Lester glared at him, “You did volunteer.” He began to worry when Lester smiled at him, especially when his thumbs twitched in response.
“You will be,” Lester drawled. “They won't accept arbitration until we prove ourselves worthy. You face their champion in the morning.”
“Bugger.”
