Lester watched the armed guards patrolling the fence that lay between captivity and freedom. He turned at the footsteps behind him and glared at the intruder. “I'm surprised you're still here.”
“Well, I could hardly leave you and your dear Lieutenant Lyle behind, could I?” Helen batted her eyelashes at him. She sighed when Lester merely quirked an eyebrow at her. “Fine. Do you see that line of rocks?”
Lester nodded. “What about them?”
“It's called the deadline, venture beyond it and the guards will shoot you.”
“So... you need a distraction?”
“I was thinking we could work together. James?”
