-seen the slums of Rhode Island
-seen the mansions of Rhode Island
-presented my very first conference thingy as a grad student

Not... good. It all annoyed me. I could kind of see what they were getting at, but it felt so fake & posturing & dare I use the word "wigger"? I have heard many version of the song. Wyclef changes locations to Brooklyn/Jersey. Faith & Tim most certainly did NOT grow up in Trenchtown..

I'm not saying nobody can ever cover anybody else's song, but it seem to me there's a threshold for what seems appropriate and what doesn't, you know?
