The Great Lockout II of 2008

Dec 17, 2008 18:09

Many of you recall the time I got locked out of Meg's apartment at 7 AM. This here post will be the telling of the time I got locked out of my own apartment at 2 AM. For over two days.

A cut is probably helpful. )

Front of the Class. I saw bits and pieces of the movie while I was wrapping up the weekend, having spent most of it in Canada. They really advertised that movie hard.

Yeah. I got hooked about 45 min before the end of it, unclear on whether it was a tv series or a movie.

Hmm, I like this categorizing of memories... I kind of stopped doing that when I stopped scrapbooking, though. I started to feel like organizing & trying to preserve memories was so time consuming that it didn't leave much time for making new memories...

But it's fun, definitely. I think I just have to work on preserving the ones I really cherish, not crap I won't care about five years later. I saved all this crap from my 8th grade graduation, and I found it in a shoebox the other day. I was like, holy crap, I don't care at all about my friggin 8th grade graduation.

Yeah, I have delusions of grandeur. One, that I will get my shit together well enough to write my memoirs some day. And two, that I will get my shit together enough to be awesome enough to have memoirs that people read some day. Look for it in 2040, the first of the series being Hilarity and Poultry.

I'm sorry about your crazy lockout thing. I am always afraid that something like this will happen to me because I don't have a car and people often don't make sure I get in to places before they drop me off. I feel like I would like panic and have an asthma attack instead of being useful at all. I wonder if there are any little travel contact packs that will help with the storing your contacts if you can't get to your stuff thing? There should be, kind of like there are little packs of neosporne.

I have a little secret pocket in my coat that could store a case and MAYBE a tiny thing of solution. But then I started cataloging everything else that I'd like to keep with me for such situations (e.g. inhaler) and it quickly spirals into my just needing a man-purse.. :-P

In the winter, I just carry all the stuff I need in my pockets because I always lose my purse so I would rather not carry one if I don't have to. But in the summer I carry a purse and always carry way more stuff than I would really need in such a situation.

My husband thought it was silly that I carried the equivalent of four decks of cards in my purse, but you'd be surprised how often cards come in handy! I did finally downsize to just one deck, mostly because my purse was too freaking heavy.

Yep, thumb drive was in my house too. What, you take yours to parties? C'mon now.

Actually, yeah. Wait, doesn't everybody?

Anyway, if you ever need to break into your place of residence again, feel free to give me a call. I'd be happy to um... help out. ¬_¬

Oh!!! Good to know! My friend Steve is the only other person I know with helpful tools, and he lives in New Jersey...
