He's rather like that strange uncle with whom no one in the family wishes to deal. He doesn't get invited to reunions or holidays in the hope that he does not arrive, yet somehow he shows up anyway. Inappropriate, unwanted, and unwilling to have the decency to leave when the festivities have drawn to a close. At least not until he's completely emptied the cupboards, the refrigerator, and the entirety of the wine cellar.

I imagine the world was dreadfully dark. And that there was quite a bit of stumbling. Perhaps even a frequent stubbing of toes and the occasional unexpected collision with the furniture.
