Ya, the castrations freak out a couple of the guys here too. But i'm fine watching the spays/ovarectomies. I just love watching surgeries. But my one professor said that a girl castrated a guy in his vet school class (without his permission!) Apparently the guydid something to piss her off... (he went to vet school in cuba, needless to say, things a little more lax there.)
